Our son David and his wife Christiane rent out a newly renovated holiday apartment in the south of the Palatinate, in Schweigen-Rechtenbach at the German Wine Gate, which we can highly recommend for hikers and cyclists, or simply to switch off from everyday life. Lovers of Alsatian cuisine will get their money's worth here, as the holiday apartment is not far from Wissembourg in France. The many wonderful wines in the sunny region on the southern wine route, which is also called "The Tuscany of Germany", are all waiting to be tasted.

Pizza, pasta, salads and more...Listenelement 1The pizzeria Il Gallo dÓro is a restaurant located in Zewen. The menu includes not only their famous "wagon-wheel-sized" stone oven pizzas, but also salads, pasta, vegetable and meat dishes. The restaurant is about 300 meters from the Grete holiday apartment and can be reached on foot. We think the food is of good quality and the portions are generous.
